He angitūtanga: About the Role

Based out of the DOC Hokitika office, you will drive the design, construction and closure phases of the Pike River Memorial Facilities workstream. You will work with a small team to successfully deliver the workstream to planned scope, time and budget. The duration of the workstream is until December 2023.

 

This position is responsible for planning, prioritising and delivering key project management functions including:

  • Engaging and managing consultants, obtaining consents, procurement planning, tendering and managing construction contracts.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of project documentation, team and governance reporting.
  • Using DOC's Project Management Framework in support of all project deliverables including business case development and reporting.
  • Following best practice in the procurement, tender, contract and supplier process.
  • Stakeholder engagement throughout the project including updates and stakeholder meetings.
  • Partnering with local hapu.

 

 

He kōrero mōu: What we are looking for

  • Experience as a Project Manager
  • Demonstrated excellence at prioritising, allocating and monitoring resource usage and finding improved ways to use resources
  • Demonstrated excellence at planning and organising work and resources over a programme of work to meet negotiated timeframes
  • Well-developed communication and relationship skills - the ability to work positively and productively with partners, stakeholders, colleagues and team members - identifying and prioritising their needs
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint

 

In addition, you will have:

  • An understanding of Asset Management principles and financial understanding around opex and capex expenditure is desirable.
  • Experience and/or understanding of the resource and building consent process and the Resource Management Act and Building Act is also desirable.
