We are looking for a passionate individual to come and join the Organisational Development Unit to coach, mentor and inspire our cohort of Senior Leaders (Tier 3 and above). This role will help our leaders to build high performing/high functioning teams that have well-embedded core operating disciplines.

The Organisational Development Unit is DOC's inhouse function for supporting the business with service and support functions on leadership support, organisational design, leadership development, change management, capability and organisational development and wellbeing. We support our organisation through its continuing transformation, by ensuring our core ways of working are embedded well and by helping leaders strengthen organisational alignment, culture and performance.

You will be working with the OD Leadership Team to continue to pave the way on our operating standards journey and making sure our senior leaders are equipped to make informed decisions.

You are passionate about taking data and turning it into intelligence. You believe that providing advice on good organisational design and alignment to core operating disciplines is the key to success for a senior leader. Good outcomes for people are at the heart of everything you do, and you will ensure that we are delivering contemporary, considered and measurable solutions.

You'll need to be business and politically savvy, to trust your gut and back it up with good analysis and insight. Experience in performance consulting is an advantage.

Key to success in this role is your ability to build strong relationships, to be credible and to hold exceptional communication skills.

Our workforce is growing, and the definition of “workplace” is shifting, our people are distributed nationally, and we need our senior leaders thinking to reflect that.

We are looking for someone with:

  • a high level of integrity
  • outstanding reviews of your consulting skills
  • an ability to build credibility and trust quickly
  • the ability to join the dots creatively
  • an aptitude for solving problems and taking advantage of opportunities
  • a growth mindset who is always focussed on continuous improvement
  • Significant experience and skill in partnering with, and providing advice to, Senior Leaders

This role will be based in Wellington but works nationally. Travel at times will be required.

You will be up to date with best practice in your chosen field and will be a team player who enjoys working collaboratively.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
