We are seeking two enthusiastic, energetic, customer-focused Rangers to join the team over the summer season for 6 months between 29 October 2018 to 26 April 2019.

 

You will be responsible for:

• Conducting field monitoring of visitor and concessionaire activity at key sites
• Recording findings of monitoring to enable follow-up of non-compliant or illegal activity
• Working with tourism, businesses and individuals regarding their activities on public conservation land
• Managing the potential effects of commercial activities on conservation land
• Promoting conservation, lifting awareness and educating others on the value of conservation

 

The ideal applicant will have:

• An enthusiasm and active interest in outdoor pursuits and conversation
• Experience in customer service
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 

Hours/days of work are flexible up to a maximum of 40 hours per week between Monday to Sunday as suits your current situation.  A maximum of 8 hours can be worked each day.

 

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the entire employment period if applying internationally.
