Do you want an interesting and challenging role in conservation?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with excellent people skills to grow conservation in the Whangarei District. 

 

You will need excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills and strive to deliver first-rate relationship management to our staff and stakeholders while being responsible for a range of the following:

  • Processing permit and concession applications and monitor commercial or private activity on public conservation land, including maintaining up-to-date database information
  • Providing high quality input on Resource Management Act planning processes, including coordinating the Department's input into resource consent applications and consent monitoring where these affect natural, historic and/or recreational resources
  • Coordinate local input into statutory land administration
  • Relationship management and supporting community groups, whanau, hapu and iwi to deliver conservation projects
  • Planning and coordinating events and volunteer opportunities

 

This is a 1 year fixed term role based in Whangarei.
