If you are looking for a rewarding career contributing to the management of New Zealand's natural resources, then look no further.

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced resource management professional to join our growing planning team.

Building on your knowledge and experience in RMA planning, there will be opportunities to be involved in conservation-related resource management issues across New Zealand.  This is an exciting time to join DOC as our new Minister has given the instruction to reinvigorate our RMA advocacy function.

Your communication skills will be exceptional, both written and oral, as you may be drawn upon to give advice to the Director General and present evidence at Environment Court hearings. In addition, you will be a team player who is focused on securing innovative conservation outcomes and working alongside others. An ability to be flexible and to adapt to work requirements, coupled with an ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of people, both internally and externally, will be integral to this role.

The Department recently received the Randstad Award for the most attractive employer in the public sector for the third year running.  DOC also offers excellent training and development opportunities, and flexible working hours.  There will be some travel associated with this role.

Please apply online. Applications must include a cover letter, a CV and evidence of the required capabilities as per the role description.
