Are you a heritage specialist with the skills and desire to help transform New Zealanders' connection with their heritage?  The Historic & Cultural Heritage Team is seeking a Technical Advisor to join our team in a permanent role based in either our Wellington, Hamilton or Christchurch Offices. 

 

The focus of the role is to support the manager and the team to successfully deliver key programmes of work that contribute toward DOCs strategic outcome that “Our history is brought to life and protected”.

 

Your knowledge of heritage management will help us deliver our priority projects effectively, to create synergies across work areas and ensure the outputs of work are aligned with the priorities of the Department.  An ability to work at a strategic level will allow our team to identify opportunities to continually lift DOC's performance in its heritage management.

 

You will need to be an outstanding relationship manager (internal & external) with the ability to communicate with ease verbally and in written form about the team's key project work.

 

As a member of the Historic & Cultural Heritage team you will also be required to adapt your skills and knowledge to a wide range of heritage related projects.

 

You must have a sound knowledge of New Zealand's historic & cultural heritage, with at a minimum, an under-graduate qualification in a related discipline.
