Are you a planning professional wanting to play a key role in the Departments' delivery of the long-term vision for conservation in New Zealand?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our high performing team.

We are looking for an experienced planning professional to join our Management Planning team based in Hamilton, preparing and advising on statutory plans which give strategic direction to the management of public conservation lands and waters.

We are a national team with 2 service centres, Hamilton and Christchurch, so you could be working on Conservation Management Strategies, Conservation Management Plans and National Park Management Plans from Cape Reinga to Bluff.

Building on your significant knowledge and experience in planning, particularly plan development and policy writing, this role offers opportunities to work on planning processes triggered by Treaty Claims Settlements and you can expect to work alongside a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

To achieve all this, you will need to be a team player, focussed on securing innovative conservation outcomes.  You will need to think big and yet provide detail and clarity, so your strong analytical and organisational ability will be complemented by excellent written and oral communication skills.

If this sounds like your next challenge, we look forward to hearing from you.

Please apply online. Applications must include a cover letter, a CV and evidence of the required capabilities as per the role description.

For more information please contact Stephanie Bowman, sbowman@doc.govt.nz or telephone 027-5366-951, quoting vacancy 400/92403.

Applications close at 5pm on Monday, 12 February 2018.
