Do you want an interesting and challenging role in conservation? Do you want to help make decisions about the use of NZ's special places such as national parks and reserves?

We are looking for two talented people to join our Permissions Team in Hamilton on a two year fixed-term contract. As a result of recent improvement work, a portion of the Department's permissions processing work is provided by a team based in Hamilton. You could be working on applications that are located from the Cape Reinga to the Sub-Antarctic Islands.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team working to a new operating model that will see an increased focus on working within a wider national team. This will provide an integrated professional service to the rest of the organisation.

You will provide system support for many types of applications, from those that consider commercial activities through to taking of wildlife and assessing them under the relevant legislation and making recommendations to decision-makers. You will be building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of people and industries.

We are looking for someone with high levels of administrative skill and great team fit. You will prove to us that you have strong analytical and organisational skills and you will be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as a sound understanding of effective systems and processes.
