We have an opportunity available for a passionate conservation minded professional with great people skills to work in our Community Team.


As a Ranger, Community you will be part of a highly motivated Team, focused on processing permissions for use of and access to public conservation land, as well as finding new opportunities for communities, businesses, iwi, agencies, schools and individuals to get involved in conservation.


You will be responsible for:

  • Processing in relation to statutory land administration, RMA, permits and concessions, as required
  • Seeking and securing partnership opportunities with iwi, businesses and communities that deliver value to conservation
  • Supporting other team members in building new partnership opportunities
  • Supporting joint venture projects with businesses, community groups, and iwi
  • Promoting conservation, lifting awareness and educating others on the value of conservation and ecosystem services


The ideal applicant will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, or relevant experience in statutory management processes and experience in assessing environment effects
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about conservation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong networker, with positive working relationships across a broad range of public and private sector businesses and groups
  • Knowledge and experience in planning and organising projects
