Tourism is on a roll and with two years of record growth in visitor spend and numbers the Department of Conservation is gearing up to meet that demand.


The Dept. has a role to manage its parks and reserves and yet at the same time met the demand for sustainable tourism development and growth.


To support the Department with economic and financial advice and analysis particularly focused on the tourism and recreation area. To provide specialist technical advice when requested and undertake analysis and pricing reviews in sectors where the Dept. is operating. The role is varied, stimulating and interesting and will provide the opportunity to contribute to the business of conservation management. You will need to be comfortable with numbers along with reading and working with balance sheets. You will support the team with strong communication skills- excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and display the ability to communicate technical information to a general audience in plain language. Ideally a candidate will have a tertiary qualification in a related subject and be able to show experience of applying economic theory into practice.
