The Jobs for Nature (JfN) Unit coordinates the integration of the economic recovery programme across DOC.
JfN is part of the New Zealand Government's billion-dollar Jobs for Nature programme to help revitalise communities through nature-based employment and stimulate the economy post COVID-19.
Over 200 Jobs for Nature projects are overseen by the Department of Conservation.
We are seeking a team administrator to join the Programme Support team in the Jobs for Nature Unit. The programme is now in delivery phase and offers a great opportunity to deepen your skills in a fast paced and dynamic programme environment.
Drawing on your strong administrative skills you will act as a glue for the programme supporting the day-to-day running of three JfN teams, including leading hui agendas and logistics, supporting the logistics of deep dive project learning reviews and providing general admin support to the managers and wider Unit.
We are looking for someone who is organised, deadline driven, a strong problem solver, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at any one time and can confidently engage with stakeholders and key partners.
The Jobs for Nature programme is a dynamic environment – so pragmatism, good humour and a commitment to continuous improvement is a must.
This team administrator position will support the Programme Manager, Managers, and wider Jobs for Nature Unit. The position reports into the Programme Support Team.
The fixed term/ secondment .6FTE will be for approximately 17 months, through to 24 February 2024. We are flexible on location for the right candidate. Please state in your covering letter where you'd prefer to be based.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable working in a programme environment and work autonomously. You'll have a track record of working effectively with a mixed group of professionals and have a real passion for mahi we're trying to achieve through JfN.
If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:
- An understanding or interest in the JfN programme
- Exceptional time and diary management skills
- Great relationship management skills with the ability to build and leverage networks
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office with specific focus on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook with an appetite to grow your skills and master new applications and processes
- Comfortable engaging and working in partnership with iwi and tangata whenua
- Whakawhanaungatanga – an ability to foster and develop relationships with colleagues, public and our Te Tiriti partners
