We have a fixed term opportunity available for an experienced administrator or coordinator to join our fast paced recruitment function on a 12 month fixed term or secondment contract. You'll join our busy internal recruitment team based across the country. This role can be based in Rangiora or Christchurch working closely with our Recruitment Advisor, Pre-employment systems. Location can be flexible to work in our other offices if needed.

He angitūtanga: About the Role
The Vetting Officer provides safety checking and pre-employment checking advice and administration to hiring managers across the department. The role is fast paced and requires great communication, attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Day to day you will be processing pre-employment checks in line with process guidance and legislation, assessing results, liaising with team members and hiring managers and keeping systems up to date. You'll connect with people all over Aotearoa and learn about conservation mahi.
He kōrero mōu: What we are looking for
You will be professional and energetic with proven experience in a fast-paced administration or coordination role. Experience managing data for staff or customers with a focus on providing a high level of care would be ideal for this role. You will be able to hit the ground running and adept at balancing a varied and demanding workload, providing hands on support to your hiring managers and recruitment colleagues. You have integrity and are comfortable working with confidential documentation.
Ideally you will have:
- Strong administrative skills and knowledge
- Great time management and the ability to prioritise and juggle competing tasks
- Excellent communication skills and ability to create great relationships
- Decisive and action orientated, you enjoy a fast-paced role
- A great team player and positive mindset
- A passion for Te Papa Atawhai's Kaupapa is essential as well as understanding of Māori Tikanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi

The salary range for this position is $53,776 to $68,714 depending on relevant skills and experience.
Preferred location for this role is in our Rangiora office, but other locations will be considered for the right candidate.
