He angitūtanga | About the role
We are seeking a Business Support Officer who will provide administrative support to the Milford Opportunities Project (MOP) which is an inter-agency collaboration between iwi, business, local and central government and aspires to create a more environmentally sustainable, culturally responsive, world-class visitor experience.
You will also be part of a wider regional Business Support team who are vital to the operation of our organisation. You'll take ownership of your role and act as the ‘go-to' point of contact for the team, ensuring general enquiries from both our internal and external partners and stakeholders are responded to or escalated in a helpful and timely way.
The position will be focussed on:
- Managing the MOP Te Anau office facilities and general administration
- Managing purchase requisitions and other financial transactions including reporting
- Providing exceptional customer service internally and externally
- Managing the office visitors and emails
- Providing support for fleet vehicles, making sure vehicles are available and safe for use.
Business Support Officers make connections right across the organization, with plenty of opportunity for growth and professional development.

The Business Support Officer will undertake a mixture of administrative tasks, provide a high delivery of support and be the first point of contact for contractors, customers, and staff across the organization.
If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:
- Experience in administrative processes and have a thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Digitally savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Ability to work with a wide range of people
- Able to deliver in a timely manner and maintain a high level of accuracy while dealing with conflicting demands
- The ability to work in a team and be dependant to work alone
- Dependable to handle sensitive/confidential material with discretion
- Be a clear communicator who can engage with both internal and external staff across the motu
- A passion for conservation and willingness to advocate for conservation
- Strong health and safety focus.
Desirable:
- Certificate in business/office administration
- Experience with financial transactions, reporting and purchase requisition processes.

The salary range for this position is $54,314 to $69,401 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
