We are looking for an inspiring and influential Director to join our Policy and Visitors Group.

It's an exciting time for conservation in New Zealand. New Zealanders are increasingly rising to the challenge to help protect what makes us unique in the world.  At the same time, a growing population, growing tourism industry and increasing interest in getting into the outdoors means greater use of public lands and waters.  Having clarified how our pricing and economics function should work to support our Heritage and Visitors system and wider functions across the organisation we are ready to take on these challenges.

Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, Policy and Visitors, the purpose of the role is to deliver improved conservation outcomes through applying the best use of economic and commercial expertise.

Your role will be both to lead and inspire the Unit through a varied and challenging work programme; and to engage in a committed leadership team shaping the direction of the Policy and Visitors Group and Department as a whole.

The role is fulltime and Wellington-based.  Significant experience leading in an economic, commercial, or pricing role, ideally within a public policy context, is essential.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.

Please apply online. Applications must include a cover letter, CV and evidence of the required capabilities as per the role description.

For a confidential conversation please contact Amy Tea on 027 435 3000, amy@amytea.co.nz, or Jo Bell on 021 173 3523, email jo@amytea.co.nz.

Applications close at 5pm on Tuesday, 25 September 2018.
