Our Learning and Development team at Te Papa Atawhai (Department of Conservation) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced people leader to join in the role of Team Lead, Learning Advice and Design. This is an exciting time to join our wider Organisational Development group as we embed our centralised learning function, and delivery on a broad range of critical initiatives and projects.

 

He angitūtanga: About the Role

As Team Lead Learning Advice and Design, you will lead a team of learning and designers, developers, and advisors. You and your team will be responsible for delivering strategic capability development advice, assessment of learning needs, and design and delivery of a wide range of learning solutions, resources, and tools. Our work supports organisational performance across the DOC eco-system. 

Strong people management and coaching skills are critical to success in this role. You'll be stepping into a high-trust and inclusive team culture of remote-based specialists based across the motu. As well as fostering and enhancing our great team culture, the role calls for strong workflow and resource management, to enable and ensure the delivery of an ambitious work programme of L&D projects and initiatives.

You'll bring a deep understanding of what ‘great' looks like in a modern learning world, providing quality assurance and ensuring learning resources coming out of the team meet our modern learning and best-practice standards.

  • Capability and credibility in people management – with successful experience in leading, coaching and development others
  • A highly skilled L&D or project delivery practitioner, ideally with strong knowledge of learning advice and design practices including learning needs analysis and e-learning design
  • Strong consultation skills – able to provide strategic capability development advice to senior leaders
  • Strong work management and systems delivery capability
  • Strong critical thinking skills – with the ability to develop innovation solutions to complex problems

The salary range starts from $94,868 up to $128,351 based on demonstrable skills and experience.
