Based in Wellington this fulltime National Visitor Centres Coordinator role works as a part of the national visitor centres team within the Customer and Brand team.


Applicants need to have the ability to add value to the work of national visitor centres team providing quality guidance, advice, and support to visitor centre staff and others.


To be successful in this role you will be experienced and skilled at working with others to deliver customer experiences that satisfy. You will be an effective communicator working to support the delivery of visitor information and key messages that contribute towards achieving positive conservation outcomes.


Applicants for this role will need the ability to lead the implementation of key strategic initiatives at visitor centres involving customer satisfaction, visitor centres performance, and upgrades. It is essential that the person working in this role supports visitor centres on a day-to-day basis with regular correspondence and sound responses to staff enquiries. Applicants will have knowledge and understanding about motivating and supporting people with training programmes and working with others to promote national marketing campaigns.


Applicants will need to demonstrate their ability to:

  • Communicate effectively with visitor centre staff and management.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with others to achieve positive conservation outcomes.
  • Lead customer satisfaction programmes.
  • Champion visitor centre staff development and training initiatives.
  • Confidently contribute towards the delivery of key messages at visitor centres. 
  • Manage work and motivate others to meet deadlines.
  • Offer quality advice and support to enable sound decision-making.
