The Department of Conservation (DOC) is the central government agency charged with managing New Zealand's natural, historic and cultural heritage on behalf of all New Zealanders.

The Customer Engagement Unit is looking for a skilled Web Communications Advisor to join our Web Team. This is an exciting opportunity to put your web expertise to work communicating the Department's key messages and conservation work to the public. Reporting to the Team Lead Web Communications, you will:

• work in a team focussed on delivering strong external communications and excellent customer service

• create and edit web content for the DOC's website www.doc.govt.nz

• advise staff on preparing web content

• contribute to the strategic projects needed to keep the website engaging and responsive

You will bring to the team:

• skill in creating, editing and proofing written material for the web

• website management experience and a technical understanding of web technology including a working knowledge of HTML

• a focus on the user, with an understanding of usability and accessibility fundamentals

• the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of people

• problem solving, analytical and project management skills

• experience or interest in providing rich web experiences

• ability to provide support and share expertise

• an interest in the outdoors to support recreation web content would be beneficial
