We are looking for an experienced internal communications professional to join DOC's Internal Communications team, based in the Customer Engagement Unit in either Christchurch, Auckland or Hamilton.


This exciting, challenging role is part of an engaged national team in a high performing unit.  


The role is to provide integrated and strategic internal communications advice to enable key national projects to be successful.


We are looking for a senior communications operator who can:

  • Develop integrated campaigns to support behaviour change
  • Influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Ensure there are clear communication measurement and reporting processes in place
  • Work well in a team but can get on with the job to deliver the goods
  • Deliver on specific engagement objectives


The successful candidate will be a flexible self-starter and capable multi-tasker, able to pick up and quickly understand different issues, manage conflicting priorities and get work done to a high standard. This role requires an ability to give solid strategic advice, strong writing skills and good end to end planning and delivery of key internal campaigns. You will have excellent presentation skills and the ability to lead work with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority. Great people skills and the ability to relate well to others will be essential.


This is a full-time role reporting to the Internal Communications Manager.


Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
