We are seeking two highly motivated people to join our enthusiastic and dedicated team to provide technical advice and support to contribute towards achieving improvements in freshwater and wetland conservation in NZ.


You will be passionate about freshwater conservation and will provide specialist advice across a range of freshwater conservation issues.  You will enjoy translating scientific knowledge into practical management actions and will thrive on engaging and communicating effectively with Department staff and a range of stakeholders to achieve freshwater conservation objectives. 


Ideally, you will have a postgraduate qualification in freshwater conservation, experience in resource management planning processes, proven project management experience, strong statistical and data analysis skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. 

Experience working with tangata whenua will be an advantage.


500/1109T to be based in Hamilton for 18 months.

500/1105T to be based in Hamilton, Christchurch or Dunedin for 12 months.


Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
