DOC's Christchurch Office has a vacancy for a Works Officer to join our Regional Planning Team.  This position is responsible for carrying out a range of project management functions including:

  • Scoping and developing recreation, historic and biodiversity capital projects;
  • Engaging consultants and managing project design;
  • Tendering projects and managing contractors and their construction activities;
  • Providing project and construction advice to the Department's field staff; and
  • Being a key part of making New Zealand the greatest living space on Earth.

We are looking for a capable project manager with experience and/or qualifications in project, construction and contract management.  You will need to have a sound working knowledge of project management processes as well as practical experience working collaboratively with others in the building and civil engineering industry.  The ideal candidate will have public sector experience with managing project budgets, schedules and scope.
