We have a vacancy in the Hokitika planning team for a biodiversity planner. The purpose of the role is to support the Western South Island region to successfully deliver its biodiversity conservation programmes.  You will also be involved in developing effective and cost-efficient biodiversity work programmes and work plans.

 

We are looking for a person, skilled in the use of information systems, with a good understanding of field operations and sound knowledge of ecosystem principles and processes – which you can explain to others.  To be successful in the role it is essential that you have good relationship and communications skills.

 

The ideal applicant will have knowledge of indigenous biodiversity across a range of ecosystems and processes.

 

If you are skilled at using computer-based management and information systems, enjoy working with others and have an active interest in our natural heritage, then this may be the role for you.

 

For clarity, note that this is an office-based role with occasional opportunities to be involved with field work.

 

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
