Programme Manager (DOC Roads), Operations Planning Team, Wellington | Wellington

Posted on 07-Aug-2017
Application close date: 21-Aug-2017

The Department is blessed with more than 72,000 recreation, historic and infrastructure assets with a replacement value of over a billion dollars – everything from huts and other buildings, signage and interpretation, roads, tracks and walkways, bridges and structures, to campgrounds and toilets!

The Department's approximate 2250km road network is a little bit different to most, where our roads are spread across all fourteen RTC regions nationally, dispersed, disconnected from each other and are largely at the end of other RCA's roads. Most of our roads exist for the sole purpose of providing access to some of New Zealand's greatest visitor experiences.

We have a vacancy for a Programme Manager to join our Operations Planning Team. This newly established position is responsible for carrying out a range of road management functions including:

  • Core programme management activities
  • Activity Management
  • Network Management
  • Journey Management
  • Contract Management

We are looking for a capable programme manager with experience and/or qualifications relevant to the road sector. You will need to have sound working knowledge of asset management processes and practices within the context of the road industry.

The ideal candidate will also have experience with capital and operational budget management in the Government sector, as well as have existing relationships within the roads sector; having worked with both NZTA and engineering consultants as part of previous roles.

Please apply online.  Applications must include a cover letter, CV and evidence of the required capabilities as per the project description.
