Project Management
Position type:
Fixed Term
Job reference:

This is a fixed term role for 3 years

The Department of Conservation (DOC) manages a nation-wide infrastructure of walking tracks, structures and huts that provide access and shelter in New Zealand's great outdoors. We need an Engineer/ Project Manager, to supplement the capacity of the existing engineering and works officer teams.

The Five Year Visitor Capital Plan for the Central North Island (CNI) Region and the acknowledgement that CNI is a leading region in terms of current and likely to increase tourism pressures will produce more demand for engineering and project management services.

This role combines these two streams of work to provide greater capability and capacity to deliver these needs over the next 3 years.  It will work closely with existing dedicated engineer positions across the country but with a focus in CNI, and (senior) works officers in Central North Island Region, to deliver assigned projects from engineering concept and design to construction project management.

We need you to have a broad structural engineering background, preferably with some exposure to cable-structure engineering and experience in managing construction projects. If you have a good level of fitness and an active interest in outdoor recreation, then this may well be the role for you!

Please apply online.  Applications must include a cover letter, CV and evidence of the required capabilities as per the role description.
