Are you passionate about the conservation of New Zealand's natural flora and fauna, skilled and experienced in delivering complex aerial predator control operations, and up for a challenge?

 

The Fiordland District Office is looking for a motivated and results oriented team member capable of delivering complex predator control operations in Western Fiordland, to provide outcomes for the Save Our Iconic Kiwi programme. Primarily this includes protecting southern Fiordland tokoeka, during the predicted beech mast of 2019/20.

 

Ideally you will have:

  • a formal qualification, or equivalent relevant experience related to natural heritage (flora, fauna or ecosystems) or conservation management.
  • experience in the execution of aerial animal pesticide application, general pest control operations and the practical management and monitoring of animal populations
  • experience and a positive attitude in working with treaty partners and stakeholders
  • excellent project management skills and experience
  • strong financial management ability
  • excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills
  • the ability to think strategically and act operationally.
