Are you someone who is passionate about the conservation of New Zealand's native biodiversity, the provision of high quality visitor experiences and heritage management?  Do you enjoy leading teams to complete quality work? If yes, then this could be the job for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Ranger - Supervisor (Biodiversity/Recreation) to join our team in Alexandra.

The focus of this role is the leadership and supervision of a team (currently nine) delivering the biodiversity, recreation, and historic work across the Central Otago District.

The work includes;

• Biodiversity recovery work which includes Grand and Otago skinks, invertebrate and threatened plant conservation
• Plant and animal pest control
• Conservation Covenant management
• Fencing
• Rural fire
• Recreation facility management including the Otago Central Rail Trail and a network of high country huts and vehicle tracks
• Historic site management which includes many buildings and relics of Otago's Gold history.

 The successful applicant will have:

• experience in leading staff and a staff first focus;
• experience scheduling an effective work programme;
• a minimum of 3-4 years' experience in conservation management of biodiversity and/or visitor facilities and/or historic assets.
