Are you someone who is passionate about recreation and the protection of New Zealand's historic assets?

 

We have a vacancy for a highly experienced Ranger in our Central Otago Team.  

The focus of this position is on the delivery of our recreation and historic work which includes: 

  • Leading the summer hut ranger and campsite programme,
  • Leading on public access including relationships with land owners and other stakeholders,
  • Managing the sign programme for the District,
  • Setting up and managing contracts for recreation and historic work.

 

Based in Wanaka, your day to day work will take you across the Central Otago District undertaking recreation and historic work on and off public conservation land.

Your skills and experience in recreation and historic work will be vitally important in supporting other staff, community groups and volunteers to deliver on the ground.

 

The successful applicant will have

  • extensive experience in field assets and/or facilities
  • sound knowledge and practical experience of recreation/historic work
  • project management experience or equivalent skills
  • strong relationship skills to communicate and work with our communities, neighboring landowners, contractors, stakeholders and Iwi.
