An exciting and challenging position is currently available within the Buller District for an experienced Ranger based in Westport.


We are looking for a central and pivotal link in our successful team.  We need a team player, that is cool under pressure, has proven they can manage competing demands and can still keep a positive team oversight.


You will be heavily focused on leading and implementing critical conservation work programmes involving:

  • construction and maintenance of visitor sites and assets
  • project management and improvement of facilities and amenities
  • Support asset management and planning systems for teams in a variety of projects from Punakaiki to Karamea
  • visitor hazard and risk management systems


Your skills and experience in field work and asset management systems will be of great help to others as your role includes supporting and/or overseeing Rangers, community groups, contractors or volunteers doing conservation work in the field.
