We are looking for an organised and empathetic person to help deliver the work of the Community Team across the Wairarapa District.

 

The successful applicant will join a team of four who work with our treaty partners, community groups and other environmental organisations. The team also co-ordinates the Department's work around the RMA, concession applications and other statutory matters.

 

Our Community Team Rangers also have the opportunity to work in conservation projects in an area between Cape Palliser and Dannevirke.

 

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the ability to:

  • Manage and maintain positive relationships with partners and staff
  • Plan and manage projects to meet agreed deadlines
  • Assist with processing concession applications, RMA submissions and statutory requirements to deadline
  • Use sound judgement to identify opportunities
  • Plan and facilitate joint initiatives and manage budgets
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing

 

Some experience of working with Maori, completing digital templates, conservation and the wider environment would be an advantage.

 

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
