This is an exciting opportunity for someone with well developed, high quality biodiversity management, monitoring and interpersonal skills to join our team of rangers in Pipiriki.

Ideally you will have proven experience with:

  • biodiversity asset and threat management and outcome monitoring skills
  • leadership and management of contracts
  • back country field work
  • accurate and timely reporting
  • supporting community initiatives in conservation
  • conservation education and advocacy
  • engaging, consulting and liaising with Tangata Whenua.

You will have experience, demonstrated ability and attributes in following policies and procedures, be accurate and timely with reports, an effective communicator and have a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Being able to fully engage with and collaborate with Tangata Whenua and a range of stakeholders and community groups is also an essential part of this job.

You may be required to work in the back country and outside normal working hours in the remote conditions of the Whanganui National Park and surrounding public conservation lands so a good level of fitness is required. You will also contribute to emergency work including fire control and compliance & enforcement, as required.
