The Kaimai-Mamaku Catchments Forum is looking for a Forum Coordinator to coordinate and maintain oversight of the Kaimai-Mamaku Catchments Forum (KMFC), with a view to implementing the Forums' Strategic and Operational Plans. The Department of Conservation is employing this role on behalf of the KMFC, with the role being based out of the Department's Tauranga Office.


The role will work in collaboration with existing and new members, the Forum Chair, the Steering Group and the participating agencies (Department of Conservation, Bay of Plenty Regional Council, Waikato Regional Council). Key focus areas for the role will be Forum and Steering Group administration, operational planning, community engagement and communications.


To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Excellent relationship building skills and a proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including experience working with tangata whenua
  • Ability to see opportunities to link people and projects to gain mutual benefit
  • Well-developed and effective facilitation, networking and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to carry out highly productive work without supervision, while also willing and able to work as a part of a team
  • Experience in planning, problem solving and decision making


We are initially recruiting on a 12-month fixed term basis, after which the work and function of the role will be reviewed to decide on the future make up of the position.


This is an exciting position. Some travel within the North Island, and the ability to work flexible hours at times, will be required.
