Are you someone who is passionate about recreation and the protection of New Zealand's historic assets?

 

We have a vacancy for a Hut Warden in our Recreation and Historic Team in Hauraki.  As a Hut Warden, you will be focused on carrying out:                    

  • maintenance of sites and assets
  • cleaning, management and improvement of facilities and amenities
  • provision of visitor information
  • managing hut bookings
  • visitor risk management

 

We are looking for a responsible and reliable team player, who is not afraid of hard work, with the following skills:

  • knowledge and/or experience in field delivery work
  • experience and/or qualifications in working with generators, water pumps and other field based equipment
  • a current First Aid certificate
  • a good basic knowledge of conservation
  • good communication skills and an ability to get on with people
  • a valid driver's licence
  • experience in carpentry and facilities maintenance
  • a current Approved Handlers Certificate would be an advantage
  • excellent customer services skills

 

The successful applicant must be prepared to live onsite at the Pinnacles Hut for eight consecutive days out of every fortnight.  A Warden's Hut is provided for purpose.

 

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
