He angitūtanga | About the Role

This role is office based and largely provides administration support to the local Supervisor and field teams.  The field teams conduct fieldwork for monitoring programmes across New Zealand as part of the Department's tiered National Biodiversity Monitoring Programme.

This support includes contacting Operations managers, iwi, landowners and managers e.g. forestry companies to ensure the field teams have the necessary permissions to travel to plots and stay on location.  The work also includes organising accommodation, equipment and range of other administrative tasks to assist the field teams and supervisor.  The position may also be required at times to act as an afterhours contact for the field teams.

There is a significant element of data quality assurance and maintaining information for the field teams and preparing the necessary background information teams need in the field. 

This is a full time, permanent position, working on average, 40 hours per week. You will be part of a national team and may have responsibilities that extend beyond the location where you reside.
