He angitūtanga | About the role

We're looking for our next curious and talented Learning Designer to come and join the team. The Learning and Development Team is DOC's inhouse function for all things learning. We work with the business to understand what they're missing, design and develop learning solutions. 

You will work with our internal customers to take them on the learning design journey and make them feel excited about what we're delivering for them.  You will partner with others in the team to make sure our recommendations on a suitable learning solution meet the need identified then work to develop them to the highest of standards. Whether it be from responsive and branching eLearning modules, to workbooks, job aids, infographics, webinars, checklists, podcasts, video, motion graphics – the list goes on.  Our programme of work is vast and will require a dedicated team player to help meet our workload.

Our workforce is growing, and the definition of “workplace” is shifting, our people are distributed nationally, and we need our learning design to reflect that.

As an early adopter of technology with a creative flair, you will be able to ensure that our learning assets are developed to the highest standards.  You will have a “can do” attitude with a high sense of achievement and enjoy delivering functional assets.      

If you also have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

• Experience developing learning solutions for medium to large operational and dispersed workforces.
• Skilled in learning development applications in particular using Articulate.
• Skills in graphic design / illustration.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
• A client focused approach across all aspects of work.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively to a wide variety of audiences.
• Digitally savvy with a variety of modern digital tools to produce interactive documents, video, and graphic design work.
• A natural drive for producing high quality work with strong rigor around quality assurance.
• The ability to work remotely and yet stay connected.

 

Mō te tīma | About the team

The Learning and Design team are a passionate team with a function that contributes to strategic and meaningful mahi.  You will be a nationally distributed team member. You can work from any location in Aotearoa if you have strong internet access and appropriate workspace. There may be an opportunity to periodically work from a DOC office, depending on your location and the occupancy level of the local offices. Some travel may be required but the ability to interact and stay engaged with a distributed team is crucial.

The salary range for this position is $73,336 to $93,708 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.  

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
