He angitūtanga | About the role

Te Papa Atawhai's inhouse recruitment function provides high quality, efficient and future focused recruitment support to the organisation. We are looking for dedicated and collaborative individuals to join our team who feel inspired, day in day out and connected to our united purpose.

As an essential part of our Recruitment team, the coordinator role is ideal for people with an interest in Recruitment and Human Resources, with a focus on providing excellent candidate experience for new people joining the Department, and those moving internally to exciting new roles.

The position will be focussed on:

  • Coordination of recruitment activity in your dedicated portfolios across Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Managing recruitment activity in our eRecruitment system (Springboard)
  • Onboarding of staff, including adhering to HR processes and policies, producing, sending and receiving offer letters and documentation
  • Guiding candidates through their onboarding journey from offer letter to placement in payroll
  • Providing timely and accurate advice to candidates and new starters
  • Representing the Department and its mahi by managing our careers inbox
  • Providing advice and support to hiring managers and support staff involved in the recruitment process

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

  • Familiarity with HR databases, applicant tracking systems and candidate management systems highly desirable
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and diligence
  • Proven success working with others in a team
  • The ability to engage effectively in a Māori setting and the willingness to learn karakia, pepeha and local tikanga to support productive working relationships

This is a fixed term role covering parental leave until September 2023. The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $68,000 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
