He angitūtanga | About the role
As the Continuous Improvement advisor, you will turn your talents to designing, developing, testing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to lift the efficiency and effectiveness of our Business Services Unit teams. The role calls for an innovative, creative, and solutions-focussed operator who can support and drive best practice business improvement within our unique operating environment.
You will report to the Business Improvement Manager and will work closely with them on the diverse work programme for this group.
Specific responsibilities will also include:
- Developing and maintaining processes and methods for capturing improvement ideas to review and analyse alongside other key data and performance information
- Facilitating conversations to identify improvement opportunities and ensure improvements are having a meaningful impact on group and organisational outcomes
- Support DOC's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) by ensuring process owners are provided with clear advice, guidance, and oversight.

To be successful in this role, you will bring demonstrable experience and expertise in managing best practice business improvement, innovation, and quality assurance processes in a complex organisation. We need someone who is positive and proactive by nature with the ability to ask the right questions and liaise with the right people to deliver results.
You will have highly developed critical thinking skills with the ability to drive systems and data analysis, identify critical risks and issues, and develop fit-for-purpose solutions and recommendations that enable both strategic and tactical business improvement.
Other desired skills are:
- Experience in change management and continuous improvement methods and tools would be an advantage, eg Lean; Six Sigma.
- Proficiency with the MS Suite of tools and ability to consider and implement improvements and solutions using modern technology (eg Power BI).
- Sound technical skills and ability to quickly learn new software and tools.
- Ability to work remotely and independently.
