The Kahui Kaupapa Atawhai group's aim is to develop a cultural platform that connects people with the natural world and integrates Kaupapa Māori with conservation management. "Kia Kotahi Mai-People and nature as one'.

We are seeking a strong leader to join our Kahui Kaupapa Atawhai Unit.

 

The purpose of this significant role is to provide high level support to the Deputy Director-General ofKahui Kaupapa Atawhai and to identify the broadening of the original management role of Nga Whenua Rahui. We are looking for a skilled person to support the learning and development of this vital unit and assist in the meaningful engagement with other units across the Department and wider business group

 

You will be skilled in relationship development and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders across a range of different platforms.

 

In addition to the leadership capabilities outlined in the Role Description, the successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve ambitious results
  • Ability to analyse complex information and develop integrated workplans
  • Demonstrated ability to build and leverage effective relationships
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • High level of intellectual energy.
  • Capacity to work in both the Public Administration and Iwi environments.
