He angitūtanga | About the role

This is a fixed-term role for 12 months, based in our North Head office, and works as part of our Business Support Team assisting our Operations functions.  Supporting different teams, this role requires someone who is agile, can quickly adapt and prioritise with several tasks on the go, at any one time. This role offers the flexibility to work from home at times, as well as the opportunity to work flexible hours (around the school run for example).

The position will be focussed on:

  • Managing the North Head office facilities
  • Managing the Auckland region's facilities
  • Providing exceptional customer service internally and externally
  • Managing the office visitors, emails, and phone calls
  • Managing our regional fleet of vehicles, making sure vehicles are available and safe for use
  • Coordinating Property work orders
  • General administration for the office and operations team

We are seeking an organised, capable administrator with experience in providing high-quality support, services, and project coordination.  You will be a team player who is also self-driven to work autonomously.  Our shared purpose and values will inspire you.

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

  • Understanding of the concerns and aspirations of tangata whenua and iwi in relation to conservation and treaty settlements
  • An understanding and connection to Te Ao Māori, tikanga and whakapapa
  • A strong administration background with demonstrated experience in administrative processes and services
  • A drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience in every interaction.
  • A thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to turn your hand to a multitude of tasks and easily pick up or learn new systems or processes.

Desirable

  • An understanding of the work of the Department and how it contributes to New Zealand's future sustainability
