The Information Systems and Services (ISS) team is looking for you, a Business Analyst, to be part of the core project team to develop a new “Better Government Services” (BGS) System for DOC. The BGS System will assist DOC in managing the growing need to respond to many requests from diverse sources on DOC's activities, past present and future.

 

With an enquiring mind, great communication skills and business analysis talent, you will work with us on building the BGS System. You will work across the business and be expected to engage with field rangers, corporate managers, administrators and internal service providers, as well as commercial vendors. Of course, we expect you to be a great documenter, scaling from the tactical to the detailed view. You'll use process design to drive efficiencies and effectiveness, knowing that you play your part in delivering better conservation outcomes for all New Zealanders.

 

This includes:

  • Being part of a motivated BGS project team and to assist the project manager in the development of the development of a detailed business case.
  • Tasks that include the design of efficient business processes, accompanied by well described business requirements and needs.
  • Working alongside the solutions architects, to translate these processes and requirements into information to help develop solutions and products
  • Being part of the delivery of bgs product into the business.

 

You as the ideal candidate will:

  • Have excellent business process, requirements management knowledge and skills.
  • Be excellent at engaging with business and technical teams
  • Have excellent documentation and writing skills
  • Have strong ICT skills, experience
  • Have experience in Agile methodologies
  • Well versed in BABOK good practice and processes
  • Have a background in both business systems and conservation
  • Understanding of business change management, having ideally worked on projects with a large business change component
  • Ability to consider and understand the impacts of changes to the business
  • Have worked alongside or demonstrated success completing business change assessments, design and implementation of change management into business groups
